Custom : "Mountain Sage - Kensho" Katana
This gorgeous katana is handforged of beautiful 1060 AISI Carbon steel, Maru style ,and is beautifully polished with no visible hammon line.
Suitable for the hands of a professional only, in martial arts demonstrations and for the walls / sword cabinets/racks of collectors.
Outstanding attention to detail , authentic ray-skin on the Tsuka (Black) with custom sandstone coloured silk/cotton ito wrap.
The Saya is Classic Black laquered with a sandstone cotton/silk sageo to match the tsuka.
The Tsuba features that of the Mountain Sage Warrior alarmed at the presence of another - warned by his faithful
dog - he takes up arms only to find a wise observer, the great monkey of the forest.
The blade is sharp and is highly polished using multiple grade stones. Interesting to note this one does not
have the usual visible hammon line as mentioned along its edge, giving it a very mirror like appearance.
Maru construction blade , Chu-Kissaki (medium length tip) in Shinogi - Zukuri shape.
Stunningly polished!!
The weight is just 1.2kgs inc saya , 1kg without.

Gorgeous Katana, battle ready, I gave it 4 stars only because it could have been made with folded steel.
Bought it as my first Katana and definitely not the last one from Guardians Vault.
