This shirasaya Ninja-to is handforged of  stunning 1060 Carbon steel and is available in both mono or in folded steel to form the beautiful pattern shown within the blade.

Suitable for the hands of a professional only, in martial arts demonstrations and for the walls / swords cabinets/racks of collectors.

The Shirasaya was traditionally used during the feudal period to store blades in times of peace or non conflict. As if kept in their battle saya, katana would over time gain moisture due to not being able to breathe through the lacquer and therefore rust faster. These Shirasaya were used to mount the blades when times of war were not needed , to keep the blade in peak condition within the home during the rest period.

The blade pictured features beautiful folding work along the whole length of the blade and no bo-hi (lightening groove) making it a fuller feeling blade, sharpened to light / medium edge and stunning to behold.

The saya is absolutely beautiful and made completely of Japanese White bamboo which has been handcrafted and lacquered to absolute perfection, the Tsuka featuring a single mekugi pin as per tradition.

This is a very refined looking Ninja-to Shirasaya that is has a very natural element to it.
